چکیده

 Automatic visual inspection and defect detection on Variable Data Prints Marie Vans, Sagi Schein, Carl Staelin, Pavel Kisilev, Steven Simske, Ram Dagan, Shlomo Harush HP Laboratories HPL-2008-163R1 Variable data printing, high-speed inspection, print defect detection, scanning, GPU We propose a system for automatic, on-line visual inspection and print defect detection for Variable -Data Printing (VDP). This system can be used to automatically stop the printing process and alert the operator to problems. We present the components required for constructing a vision-based inspection system and show that our approach is novel for the high-speed detection of defects on variable data. When implemented in a high-speed digital printing press, the system will allow a single skilled operator to monitor and maintain several presses, reducing the number of operators required to run a shop floor of presses as well as reduce wasted consumables when a defect goes undetected. Laser Diffuse Lighting in a Visual Inspection System for Defect Detection in Wood Laminates

Nowadays, wood companies are ever more interested in automatic vision systems (Li & Wu, 2009), (Åstrand & Åström, 1994), for an effective surface inspection that greatly increases the quality of the end product (Smith, 2001), (Armingol et al., 2006). The inspection process, in most visual inspection systems, pursues online defects identification, to reach optimum performance (Malamas et al., 20...

Automatic Detection Method for Casting Defects Based on Gradient Features

In this paper, we propose an automated visual inspection method for casting defects. Automatic inspection systems have the potential to significantly improve quality and increase production rates. In our method, the contour discontinuity of casting product and machine-learning-based defect detection are utilized to detect defects on the surface of products. The peripheral vision and involuntary...

Development of an Automatic Testing Platform for Aviator’s Night Vision Goggle Honeycomb Defect Inspection

Due to the direct influence of night vision equipment availability on the safety of night-time aerial reconnaissance, maintenance needs to be carried out regularly. Unfortunately, some defects are not easy to observe or are not even detectable by human eyes. As a consequence, this study proposed a novel automatic defect detection system for aviator's night vision imaging systems AN/AVS-6(V)1 an...

Automatic Detection and Localization of Surface Cracks in Continuously Cast Hot Steel Slabs Using Digital Image Analysis Techniques

Quality inspection is an indispensable part of modern industrial manufacturing. Steel as a major industry requires constant surveillance and supervision through its various stages of production. Continuous casting is a critical step in the steel manufacturing process in which molten steel is solidified into a semi-finished product called slab. Once the slab is released from the casting unit, th...

Online Fabric Defect Inspection Using Smart Visual Sensors

Fabric defect inspection is necessary and essential for quality control in the textile industry. Traditionally, fabric inspection to assure textile quality is done by humans, however, in the past years, researchers have paid attention to PC-based automatic inspection systems to improve the detection efficiency. This paper proposes a novel automatic inspection scheme for the warp knitting machin...
